Echo is Silk’s real-time database cloning platform, enabling DevOps, QA, and data teams to spin up full production-grade environments on demand.
My role focused on redesigning the core Echo dashboard to support scalability, usability, and brand alignment while also creating a polished demo experience for Silk’s flagship conference. The work combined deep UX problem-solving with presentation-ready UI storytelling.

The legacy dashboard lacked visual consistency, with unclear hierarchy between full databases, Echo clones, and hosts. Navigation was cluttered, and users had limited feedback during cloning operations, which made managing environments inefficient and error-prone.

We began with a UX audit of the legacy Echo dashboard, identifying key usability gaps across navigation, feedback, and visual hierarchy.

Next, we restructured the information architecture to better support by introduced streamlined flows for snapshot creation, host assignment, and environment management enhanced by task bars, guided wizards, and clearer visual distinctions between clone states.
