Overview
Overview
As part of my work at Zing Studio, I led the UX design of a new security feature for Silk, a cloud data platform that helps enterprises run high-performance workloads in the public cloud.
The project required integrating a sensitive, system-level feature into an existing product used by large-scale organizations. It involved translating technical complexity into a scalable, intuitive experience for platform administrators.

This was a newly introduced capability with no prior user interface and it needed to be fully integrated into Silk’s existing platform architecture. The main challenges included:
Designing within an established platform UI with existing patterns and constraints
Ensuring clarity and control for users managing sensitive configurations
Supporting large-scale operations, applying settings across hundreds of resources
Avoiding confusion or error during critical administrative workflows
Providing traceability and audit readiness for enterprise environments

Outcome
Outcome
The prototype was approved by Silk’s product leadership and incorporated into the release planning process, supporting ongoing collaboration between product, engineering, and QA. While development is still in progress, the design provides a scalable foundation that supports both current needs and future feature growth.

This project exemplified the balance between product integrity and usability.
Designing within a complex system meant thinking beyond screens about roles, scale, system state, and trust.
My focus was on giving users the confidence to make high-impact decisions, with clarity and control every step of the way.
